Modernisation of Brackwede main street

March 2022 until end of 2024

We are planning the development of the main street in Bielefeld-Brackwede together with the City of Bielefeld.

Three elevated platforms will be constructed to provide barrier-free accessibility in public transport, as required by law. In addition, the StadtBahn tram platforms will be adapted for the future use of Vamos trams.

The aim is to modernise and develop the entire transport space for all users. Footpaths, cycle lanes, parking and bus stops will be reorganised to eliminate areas of conflict.

From Monday, 25 March 2024, there will be changes to some bus routes. Information will follow shortly.

All information about the affected lines and stops

At the beginning of the Easter holidays, construction phase 3 starts, during which the Brackwede Kirche elevated platform will be built. During this period, the Hauptstraße/Berliner Straße junction can no longer be used by all bus routes.

The familiar bus and StadtBahn concept remains largely unchanged. However, there will be changes in the area of the (H) Brackwede Kirche:

  • The main transfer point remains the accessible (H) Brackwede Bahnhof. Line 135 and a StadtBahn replacement service continue to offer a direct connection from Senne or Sennestadt to (H) Brackwede Bahnhof.
  • Only lines 28, 136 and 228 stop at (H) Brackwede Kirche.
  • The replacement service SEV line 1 and the lines 82, 94, 135 and N6 no longer serve (H) Brackwede Kirche.
  • Alternatively, please use the new replacement stop Berliner Straße or the (H) Dresdener Straße on the Stadtring.

Medical practices and stores along Hauptstraße are accessible Download  on foot at all times. Signposts to/from the replacement stops will be put in place.

In the following, you can find all information about the affected lines as well as stops and schedules.
